Yet another 23″ Android-powered mega-tablet

Remember the 23? multi-touchscreen display that was developed by Martin Drashkov which we covered recently? Well, it has certainly sparked off the interest of Peter Kaptein, who decided to develop his very own version. This is one piece of gadget homage that remains true to the spirit of the original as it retains a similar screen size, although this project relies on a single touch resistive 23? touchscreen displace with an Difrnce DIT7000 Android tablet that was purchased for 135 Euros after an “everything must go” sales discount. Too bad there was no way to crank out higher resolutions of at least 1,200 x 800 pixels, although HDMI output resolution of this tablet still stands at a rather respectable 800 x 600 pixels. Not exactly something that will set the world alight, but it is still an interesting experiment for DIY lovers. See a video of it in action after the jump.

iPhone 4S arrives at the FCC, another iPhone 4 accompanies it

It is inevitable that the iPhone 4S would have been spotted over at the halls of the FCC shortly after the latest iPhone model was announced. In the FCC filing, it the iPhone 4S is known by the model number A1387, where it obviously picked up nods of approval all round, and said filing did confirm stuff that we already know such as support for both GSM and CDMA bands to turn this into possibly the most famous world phone in due time.

Apart from that, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity is also supported just like the Macbook Air, albeit a low power version of the spec. There was also another version of the iPhone 4 making an appearance on the FCC earlier today, sporting several design tweaks such as a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module which has already been soldered onto the main printed circuit board. It will be known as the A1332, which is similar to the original iPhone 4. With the benefit of hindsight, this is most probably the 8GB model of the iPhone 4 that is offered for just $99 on contract, while those who prefer the far older iPhone 3GS can always get it for free – on contract, of course.

There are so many conflicting rumors and reports on how the iPhone 5 is going to look like, that it’s starting to get difficult to sort out somewhat credible reports from the outright rumors. As it stands (and a quick recap), the rumors are now saying that the next-generation iPhone will either resemble the iPhone 4 with some slight changes in design, or it will be a completely redesigned phone.

New iPhone 5 cases have surfaced from China by Shenzhen L&Y Technology, and based on the design it seems that the company believes that the next-generation iPhone will look similar to the iPhone 4 with slight modifications. As opposed to the iPhone 4 which featured sharp and straight edges, the case design suggests that the next iPhone will be taking a leaf out of the iPad 2’s book with a curved back design with volume buttons that are reminiscent of the iPhone 3GS. The mute switch has also appeared to have been moved to the right side of the phone.

Case manufacturers stand to benefit greatly if they can produce an iPhone case before the product actually hits the shelves. This is due to the limited availability of cases at the start of the next iPhone’s life cycle, giving manufacturers an edge if they get a case out early. This has resulted in prosecutions in the past as a Foxconn worker allegedly leaked the specifications for an Apple product to a case manufacturer.

Naturally we can’t vouch for how legit this case design is, but we’re guessing that manufacturing these cases do not come cheap, so either these companies know something we don’t or they are basing their specifications on the internet.

How to Increase Sales Starts With Embracing a Just Another 10% Belief

Is 10% very much? Would you believe that 10% can generate more than 10% in your own sales compensation not to mention the overall goal to increase sales?

When working within my sales coaching practice, I always bring out a dollar and a dime. I ask how much value is the dime compared to the dollar. Most agree that the value is just 10% and that really is not very much.

So, what would happen to your annual sales or revenue if you increased your sales behaviors or actions by just 10%? To answer this number requires you to know two important measurements of your sales results:

Your sales to earn ratio. Average dollar value per sale Sales cycle time

Sales Coaching Tip: A sales to earn ratio is the total number of contacts to the total number of earned sales.

Some sales training gurus call this a sales to close ratio. However, the word close is to shut down and who wants to shut down a qualified potential customer (prospect)? Sales Coaching Tip: Exchange the word prospect for the phrase qualified potential customer as you truly should be viewing that individual as a potential customer.

For example if your sales to earn ratio (instead of sales to close ratio) is for every 100 contacts you earn 10 sales, then you ratio is 100 to 10 or 10:1. By increasing your contacts by just 10% to 110 contacts, you could earn another sale. If you break this down even further, what this means is all you have to do is to make just 2 more calls each day Monday through Friday.

Knowing your average dollar value per sale is $1,000, you realize an additional $1,000 of personal income for just making 10 more calls. If you do this on a weekly basis, within one year you could add another $52,000 to your annual income. Sales Coaching Tip: Your sales cycle time (number of days from first contact to earn sale) will affect your income. This is one of the reasons you must keep your marketing tunnel (yes tunnel and not funnel) full with qualified potential customer leads.

Sales Skill Note: A funnel suggests that once you have your qualified potential customer in your funnel, you can let go and gravity takes over. However, if you are engaged in education based marketing, your goal is to walk with them through the Tunnel of Value through education and lead them out to the light generated by your product or service. This tunnel approach is far more in alignment with relationship selling.

To increase sales begins with your thoughts and your actions (sales behaviors). You must develop a just 10% more belief and then take the appropriate action. Since you know your numbers, your just 10% more belief starts to generate a self fulfilling prophecy. Very quickly, you have achieved your goal to increase sales by 10% and that has resulted in a better than 10% increase in your annual sales income.

Want to Increase Sales by Another 100% and Equal 200% Increased Sales?

Do you want to increase your sales by 200%? With the right attitude and discipline you can increase sales by over 200%. Do you have the correct attitude to increase sales? Does your attitude exhibit effective disciplines to increase sales?

In the previous article we discussed how a healthier attitude can help you increase sales by 100%. In this article, we are exploring how discipline will increase sales by another 100%. Refining your attitude and discipline equals 200% increased sales.

Discipline is a commitment to the most important person in the world. Discipline signifies doing what you have to do even when you do not want to do it. In sales, that can imply plenty, but let's focus on increasing sales.

Primarily, to increase sales we need to establish a benchmark. Do you know your sales process numbers? For example, your sales call to close ratio? Yes ___ No ___

If you answered YES, you are utilizing discipline to inflate increased sales. You should be aware of your daily disciplines. What you have to do on a daily basis to increase sales results and what is the basis of these results. If not, look intently at how you got those results. They will identify the proper disciplines required to increase sales.

If your answer is NO, you lack discipline and must begin tracking your daily behaviour. This includes your sales disciplines especially if you yearn to increase sales. Make note or track what you habitually do on a daily basis to increase sales?

You can track your daily disciplines by creating an uncomplicated form. Simply completing this form is a discipline. Across the top of this Discipline form, write your daily sales activity. Place the numbers 1- 31 down the side of the Discipline form representing each day of the month. Indicate your sales disciplines in terms of a number or time in the column, constantly noting what you are doing to increase sales.

For example, disciplines to increase sales can be telephone - inbound / outbound, networking, referrals / introductions, etc which lead to sales appointments. Sales appointments lead to building relationships and qualifying for new opportunities. Qualified relationships lead to sales prescriptions (presentations) which in turn lead to closes. Sales of $X equals increased sales.

By tracking your daily sales disciplines (activities), by totaling these disciplines at the end of the month and by averaging all disciplines, you will soon learn what we in the sales profession call, your sales call to close ratio in regards to increasing sales.

Before long you will be familiar with how many sales calls are required to make an appointment, i.e.: 12 to 1. How many appointments it takes to locate a qualified relationship, i.e.: 6 to 4? How many qualified relationships lead to a sales presentation, i.e.: 5 to 3? Finally, how many presentations are necessary to close and the value of that sale?

Now that you know your numbers, you can define the daily sales disciplines (activities) essential to increase sales.

It is purely a matter of discipline and doing what you say you will do, even if you don't feel like doing it. Discipline is the key to increased sales.

Convert each letter of the word Discipline to a numerical value. What is the total number? Imagine having attitude and discipline working for you and earning you a 200% increase in sales.

6 Reasons to Choose a Pocket Folder, 4 Reasons to Select Another Format For Your Sales Literature

Should you choose a pocket folder to present your sales pitch or look for another format? Sales Managers and Marketing Directors search for the answer that fits their style, product and budget. Here are the pros and cons.

6 Reasons to Choose a Pocket Folder

Versatility - No other format is as versatile. From its most simplistic single-pocket configuration to a 6-panel version with stapled-in pages and stair-stepped inserts, the format allows the most options to add as much detail as needed.

Changeability - If you have information that changes regularly, the format is very accommodating. You can insert different information each time it is delivered. A perfect example of differing information is when your organization has custom pricing for each prospective account. Consider creating matching template pages which are mostly blank, but have graphics that match the pocket folder. Then laser in your variable information and slip the pages into the pocket.

Other changeable information can include things like multiple product lines. Suppose you have 8 product lines, each with its own inserts/brochures. Some of your products are designed for all of your target audiences, some for 2 audiences, and some for 4 or 5 audiences. It's easy to mix and match inserts that are specific to each audience.

First Impression Value - The oversized format and solid feeling can't be beat. When you receive a pocket folder, it just feels more important. Make sure you choose a good designer to enhance the value even further.

Convenience for the Recipient - The recipient has a handy place to hold all of your information, including your business card. Everything can be kept neatly and securely.

Cost - Interestingly, the cost can be both an advantage and a disadvantage. Compared to a simple trifold brochure, the cost is certainly higher, but the trifold can't deliver variable information efficiently. If you had to change information each time you made a presentation with a trifold, it would be an expensive and useless endeavor.

Multiple Uses - Good looking pocket folders with generic graphics can fit multiple uses. Make sales presentations, send proposals, deliver contracts, or fulfill literature requests - all with the same device.

4 Reasons NOT to Choose a Pocket Folder

Lack of Cohesiveness - Often the users slip into the mindset that "the more we give the prospect, the better chance we have to finalize a sale." They mistakenly include every piece of literature they have, making the main message become softened and/or confused. Prospects get overloaded and either pass over or ignore the primary message.

Cohesiveness can also be lost when well-meaning, but poorly trained employees, create pieces to insert that don't maintain a branded image.

Cost - The typical cost can range from $1 - $10 each. Weigh the cost of an average sale against the cost to determine if it's worth the expense. If you're selling in the business-to-business arena with an average sale over $500, they're great. Look for a cheaper option if you're selling products worth under $500.

Overkill - If your product or service is simple or low-cost choose a small brochure or flyer instead.

Extensive Amounts of Information - There's a limit. Once you get past 24-36 pages of information, it's probably better to switch to a catalog or magazine format.
