Keyboard cases/attachments for tablets have usually been standard fare, with nothing much to shout about. They tend to be sleek and they get the job done, but for those who are fussy about design and looks, the Levitatr Kickstarter project might be something you may want to check out.

As with most keyboard docks for tablets, the Levitatr will be paired with your tablet via Bluetooth, and what makes it so unique is that when not in use, the entire surface and the keys appear to be black, but when you want to use it, a touch of a button will cause the keys to rise out of the chassis and illuminate, thus the name Levitatr, which we’re assuming is based on the keys “levitating”. Not only is this a sleek and elegant design, but it also allows you to clean the surface of the keyboard and get rid of those bread crumbs and dead skin.

The chassis of the Levitatr is made out of a single piece of aluminum, very reminiscent of Apple products, and not surprising as well considering that there will be five buttons built into the keyboard that are iPad specific. Measuring in at 12.5mm thick, the Levitatr is powered by 4 AAA batteries and for non-iOS tablet owners, not to worry as the Levitatr will be able to support the HP TouchPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Currently seeking funding through Kickstarter, if you’re interested in donating some money, a pledge of $79 will net you the Levitatr Bluetooth keyboard if and when it goes into production. For more information head on down to its Kickstarter page.

If you like the idea of marrying new technology with the old, perhaps this iPhone/iPod dock charger with a Bluetooth headset shaped in the style of a retro phone might appeal to you. As you can see from the photo above, the dock has been crafted in such a way that it appears to be rather vintage in design, and with the app running on the iPhone in the background, it looks like you could even make calls the old fashioned way by spinning the dial.

The seller has only one set available at the moment, but it seems that he is up for taking orders. It has been crafted by hand and will be available in a variety of woods, and the Bluetooth headset will also be available in the coiled wire model and is said to be capable to receiving calls up to 30 feet away. If you’re constantly on the move and need to travel from location to location, getting yourself a Bluetooth hands free kit for your phone in the car is probably a good idea. Now if you happen to be the type that has more than one cellphone, Parrot has just unveiled their MiniKit+ Bluetooth hands free smartphone car kit which is something you may want to take a look at.

It seems that the MiniKit+ will allow two devices to be connected to it simultaneously while allowing for pairing up to ten devices. With each device paired, the MiniKit+ will also be able to store up to 2,000 synchronized contacts each and will allow announce the names of those calling in, and also allows the driver to accept or reject calls by voice command.

What makes the MiniKit+ interesting is that apparently thanks to a built-in vibration sensor, the device will be able to detect when your car door is opened and automatically turns the device on and pairs your devices. It even comes with a built-in speaker that allows you to stream music through it while not using it as a hands free kit. A subscription service from Parrot called TextFriendly will even allow you to dictate emails and text messages.

The Parrot MiniKit+ is expected to be available in October and will retail for $89.
