I am quite sure that many of you out there who watched Star Wars for the first time back in 1977 (as well as the other two Star Wars movies after that) were suitably impressed by the kind of special effects that went into the creation of the movie. Well, while there were many sets of special effects done, one of them stood out in a very particular manner – that is, it boasted holographic chess characters going at each other’s throats. Fast forward to today, and we might soon be within reach of such special effects, thanks to efforts by companies such as Stanley Electric Co.

Using a micro-mirror, Stanley Electric as well as Japan’s National Institute of Information Communications Technology worked on the principle of the method. Their combined efforts have resulted in the ability to converge images from a couple of different reflectors (mirrors), doing so in mid-air in order to create the hologram effect. It is hoped that future gaming consoles will be able to take advantage of such a feature – what a future that would be, making 3D graphics feel pretty much like a dinosaur then. Other practical applications would be to see it function as a HUD (Head-Up Display) for vehicles.

Intel Tablets To Get Wireless Display

At its Intel Developer Forum, the chip giant has announced that it would bring wireless displays to its Medfield next-generation of low-power processors. Medfield is the code name for the future Atom processor. Atom has been used in Netbooks and Tablet computers running Windows, and Intel has announced that Android phones will use Atom in 2012.

Intel believes that given the capabilities of the next generation tablets, it would make sense to have the ability to use more than the 7?-10? display that is integrated in them. After all, new tablets will be easily capable of handling the 1080p (1920×1080) resolution that HDTV offers.

Although Wireless Display or WiDi is not yet a standard like WiFi, Intel believes that it will get the lion share  of the market, so it makes sense to push this capability into the market. Usually whatever Intel does becomes the standard. However, Intel’s market share in the consumer market is tiny at this point.

What would you do if you could easily beam a tablet’s content to a TV? Drop a comment at the bottom of the page.

iPad 2A while back the iPad 2 faced shortages due to some production issues with LG Display (LGD). As most of you already know, Samsung, Chimei Innolux and LGD are the primary manufacturers for the displays on the iPad 2, and issues such as failing drop tests and backlight bleeding have caused a disruption in the production cycle, thus causing the entire world to experience long delays in getting their iPad 2s.

According to Digitimes, it appears that LGD has managed to get back on track and are now pushing out 4 million displays a month since August, an increase from their 2.6 million that was reported in July. These output levels are said to maintain throughout September as well, and hopefully the rest of the year in time for the holiday season. If you happen to be living in a country where iPad 2s are in short supply, hopefully things have already started to pickup!

Literature With No Display Is Literature With Hindered Effect

Your company's literature is more than just a set of informative words on paper - it's a first impression for potential customers. So why wouldn't you display it with the same level of quality and prominence that you would write it?

With company services, beliefs and an overall image often resting on company literature, it makes sense to display it with pride and thoughtful presentation. But there are a few things to take into account when searching for your company's literature display. You should first consider the style, size and variation of your literature forms. If they're wide and short, for example, you'd choose a different display than if the forms were wide and tall. Moreover, you'll need to consider the amount of literature you want to have in print and on display at any given time, as well as any variations in literature. If, for instance, you have five different brochures for five different company services, you can opt for a tiered brochure display. That way, current or potential clients can easily and conveniently gain access to valuable information on your company and services.

Secondly, where would you like put your display? If you'd like it to be on your lobby's front desk, for instance, you'll likely want to go for something simple and non-obstructive. But if you plan to put your displays on either side of a room, you'll want to ensure they're larger and more eye-catching so that customers don't pass them by.

Finally, you'll want to choose a display which reflects your company's style. If, for instance, your company wants to exude a contemporary image, you can choose to display your literature in a modern, high-quality metal display with original tabs. However, if you want to advertise yourself as a 'one-stop-shop' type of company, you can display your literature on a range of products and services in a single, high-capacity clear tiered case. Ultimately, whether you opt for a wide, long, clear, tiered or a simple and innovative display for your literature, you can rest assured that you're effectively promoting your company's leading attributes, as well as creating a good first impression for clients.

If you're looking for a distinctive display to match the unique content of your company's literature, you'll find a range of UK display manufacturers, like Displaysense Ltd, which can provide a comprehensive set of leaflet stands, brochure displays, literature dispensers, catalogue racks, business card holders and digital display frames. So present your company's literature - and leading attributes - with a fitting display today; because literature with no display is literature with hindered effect.

Choosing Literature Dispensers For Product Display

Displaying information relies on capturing people's attention. Whether the information is a brochure, business card, or a newspaper or magazine, the vehicle on which these items are displayed can bring a person to the information. Literature Dispensers come in a variety of styles, materials, and configurations. Finding the right mix between display design and exposure will bring customers to your product.

The style of the dispenser itself is often dictated by available space. If you have little room to place a display, a wall-mounted unit may be your only option. Desktop displays are fine for business cards or smaller items if used in busy areas. If a table is designated for information display, a larger unit will be able to be used. Freestanding floor racks offer great diversity in design. These units are either stationary or mobile. They are flat, round, or multi-sided. This design can also spin or twist.

All manner of items can be exhibited with the variety of dispensers that are available. Newspapers, books, and magazines display nicely. Occasion cards or normal postcards can have a great selection shown in a small amount of room. Digitally recorded music and movies can also be arranged for viewing.

Choosing the kind of material the unit is made from is simply decided by using a few parameters. The decor of the room can have a big impact on the choice. If the office is decorated in wood, it may be best to stay with this theme. High traffic areas may lend more toward acrylic or metal to absorb wear and tear. Establishments with a lot of goods may want a unit that doesn't add extra material such as an open style wire rack.

Wood is an attractive alternative that is easily incorporated into a setting that is more formal or has wood accents. It is also a strong material with a warm natural appearance.

If you want great choice in types of units, acrylic is the material of choice. The material is strong and it can hold up to a lot of use. The product can be used both indoors and out of doors. Since acrylic can be molded and cut and comes in varied thickness the size of these units can be very small to very large. It is also easy to have a logo etched into the dispensers.

Lightweight with an airy design are characteristics of wire dispensers. Often seen as a carousel for cards, wire displays can also be configured into a wall grid with moveable shelving. When products change often, having the ability to add, move, or remove pieces from the display allows needed flexibility.

Metal allows for a durable piece with the opportunity to add color. These racks can project a utilitarian look or can offer a retro or contemporary feel. Look into this option for greater choice of style.

The choices available for literature dispensers are dizzying. To get yourself pointed in the right direction you may want to have a few things decided. Know what you want to display and the size of these items. Take the measurements of the areas where you will be installing the units. Decide if the unit needs to blend in or if it is purely needed as a tool. Having this information decided will make the selection a bit easier. Shop online to see if you can find the right dispenser for your setting.

There are a broad variety of Literature Dispensers available online and some excellent ones at Display Stands be sure to have a good look around before making a purchase.

Clear Literature Display Holders, Racks and Stands

Single or multiple pocket plastic brochure holders provide a simple solution to showcase advertising and marketing pamphlets in a neat and compact fashion.

A front or top-loading literature holder comes designed to accept an assortment of media products, such as leaflets, memos, inserts, and magazines. A plastic holder measures in the region of 2.5 to 9.5-inches in width x 11-inches in height, while a larger-sized unit often comes with an extra pocket to take a nametag or business card.

A plastic literature stand often comes with wall-mountable holes pre-drilled to offer a simple solution to attaching to a free wall space. A display rack of this nature is often seen in such places as a health center, hotel lobby, or tourist center.

Some of the common types of counter top and wall mountable leaflet holders include the Trifold at 4" in width, the Half Page at 4" in width, and the Full Page at 9" in width.

Rubbermaid, Innovative Plastics, and Deflect-O all construct a selection of single and multi-tiered display racks, with a solid build in a lightweight and clear plastic for long-term protection. Display stands in a resilient or extra thick plastic offer a more dependable design for long-term use.

In addition to the resilient counter top and wall-mountable holders, a floor-standing unit, with multi-tiered racks, and pedestal base is perfect to accept an assortment of magazines, brochures, or pamphlets in its 4 to 12-pockets.

Suggestion boxes, sign holders, business card holders, ad frames, table tents and more all offer an option to showcase a selection of marketing pieces a company has on offer. And, as well as the plastic and acrylic stands, a promotional piece of this nature also comes in cardboard, metal, wood, or wire, with a vast selection in pocket sizes, and an option to locate outside for the more hardwearing display products.

A compact, stylish plastic literature holder offers a perfect solution to highlight nametags, business cards, mini-booklets or full-sized leaflets in a solid stand for guests to browse with ease.

Literature Display Racks Explained

Literature display racks are a great way to display information to potential buyers. You can find many different styles of display racks that will allow you to showcase many types of literature such as pamphlets, magazines, brochures, and books. These racks serve to make the literature on display more appealing and enticing to buyers by organizing it and displaying it in an attractive manner. A literature rack will highlight certain items and increase the interest in your company's promotional materials. Display racks come in many different shapes and sizes, and can be made form wood, metal, and acrylic.

Literature racks have more uses than just in the business world, and are a great way for many organizations such as churches, schools, libraries, and businesses with waiting rooms to organize and store books magazines and more. Racks designed for use in these environments are very similar to ones made for business use and range in size from table top displays to large freestanding towers. You can find a rack to fit most any décor as styles and materials vary greatly.

The most common styles of literature racks are table top displays which are designed to hold smaller brochures and pamphlets, wall mounted racks which are designed to hold magazines, and free standing towers that can hold a variety of larger materials. All of these different types of racks will make organizing and displaying your literature easy depending on your specific needs. They all come in a variety of materials as well as styles.

Most tabletop displays are made of acrylic or plastic which makes them light weight and portable. They are usually designed to hold small materials such as brochures and are easily moved from place top place. These types of racks have many applications from waiting rooms, counter tops, and trade show displays. Wall mounted racks come in a wider variety of materials including plastic, metal, and wood. Plastic wall mounted racks remain lightweight so they can be moved easily but lack the durability of wood or metal. Wood racks are very attractive and durable, but are harder to move around. Metal is one of the most durable materials for a literature rack but is more expensive and heavy. Tower type racks are some of the most versatile and also come in all three materials. These types of racks work well in a variety of settings and can display a great deal of materials at once. Some tower displays are designed to be portable and fold or collapse for easy storage and portability.

There are many more designs available besides the basic three. Literature racks can be custom made to fit in any space. One popular style is a corner unit that is designed to fit flush in a corner. Other styles are designed to fit in tight spaces and some can be custom made to match other furnishings in your office. No matter what type of literature you have to display, you can easily find a display rack to highlight all of your promotional materials.
