Sprint’s been increasing its prices a lot recently – first it was the early termination fee, then it was the upgrade fee and now it looks like they’re about to deliver another blow to its customers. The folks over at SprintFeed managed to get their hands on an internal document detailing the changes to its Mobile Hotspot Add-On plan. According to the document, folks who use their phones as mobile hotspots will be given a 5GB limit for internet sharing purposes.

This change will affect both existing and new customers, so for those of you who use your phones to share your internet connection a lot – keep an eye out on your data usage. Usage above the 5GB limit will incur charges of $0.05 per MB. Fortunately, this new data cap is only for shared data and users’ unlimited data plans will be left untouched.

But folks who have been using this $29.99/month plan to keep their notebooks or non-3G devices connected to the internet on the road might feel the pinch. This new Mobile Hotspot Add-On plan will take effect next month, starting October 2nd. What do you think of the change?

With Verizon getting the head start on rolling out 4G LTE coverage, AT&T had to play catch up and started rolling out coverage of their own not too long ago. With Sprint considered to be the smallest out of the four major carriers, if they are hoping to remain competitive, it’s only natural that they hop on board the 4G LTE bandwagon as well.

While it’s no secret that Sprint has plans to eventually roll out 4G LTE coverage of their own, it looks like those plans may already be in motion, according to sources, and could see a launch of Sprint’s very own 4G LTE network early next year. Sprint has an event coming up in October, where they will be discussing Sprint’s strategy in the years to come.

Many had thought that perhaps it would be announcement of Sprint getting the iPhone 5 along with possible 4G LTE networks, so while Sprint’s iPhone still remains a mystery, assuming this recent leak is true, 4G LTE could be in Sprint’s cards come 2012. At the moment it is unclear as to which markets, or how many markets Sprint plans to cover at the start, so it looks like we will have to wait to find out.

Earlier this month Sprint updated its End of Life listing, signaling an end to the HTC EVO 4G, BlackBerry Bold 9650 and Sanyo Innuendo. Now it looks like the phones will be given another month on the shelf but we’ll be seeing an additional phone added to the EOL list: the Kyocera Echo. Despite being less than a year old, it looks like the phone hasn’t caught on long enough to stick around. After all, how many of you have one or have seen somebody in person use one? Not many I bet.

The phones that are going to be removed from the shelves next month will consist of the HTC EVO 4G, Kyocera Echo, BlackBerry Bold 9650 and the Sanyo Innuendo. Farewell, dual-screened Android phone – it was nice knowing you. Will any of you be rushing out to buy these phones before they’re not available anymore?

Much like T-Mobile’s Blackberry Curve 9360 was rumored for a September 14th release, Sprint’s Blackberry Cure 9350 was also supposed to see a release on the 9th of September but both devices have been delayed. Now the good news for those who have been looking to get their hands on the Blackberry Curve 9350 is that the device has been officially given a release date along with its pricing, assuming of course there are no further delays.

The device is expected to be made available come 2nd of October (along with the LG Marquee and Kyocera Milano) and will be priced at $79.99 on contract. Just a quick refresher for those who may have forgotten – the Blackberry Curve 9350 will be sporting an 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a 2.44” HVGA+ 480×360 display, a 5MP camera and it will be running on Blackberry OS 7.

First off we might be reading too much into this mysterious memo that recently surfaced over at the Sprint stores but it sure looks like we’ll be seeing the iPhone 5 arriving at Sprint this October. The folks over at SprintFeed recently got their hands on a photograph of an internal memo informing its employees of a black out. Here’s what the memo had to say:

“Due to the possibility of a major phone launch in October we are blacking out September 30th through October 15th“

Feel the shivers run down your spine yet? We sure did. When you take into account that most of the major phones for Sprint are on their way or have already been released there’s no other “major phone” that could be coming in the carrier’s direction. Of course, it could be some super secret, unannounced phone that isn’t the iPhone 5, but we doubt it – especially after all the recent rumors about the Sprint iPhone 5. What do you think?

Sprint users you may be in for some good news! According to a report that just surfaced, it looks like a Sprint-specific iPad 2 may be headed your way, assuming of course you buy into the rumors. 

A few days back we reported that Sprint was apparently training their employees for a possible iPhone 4 launch, and it was also suggested at that time that Sprint was preparing their own iPad, and it looks like that rumor is starting to gain a bit of traction.

The current report is suggesting that Apple and Sprint have completed a version of the iPad 2 that will be able to run on Sprint’s network, and apparently the tablet will be ready for sale in time for the holidays, although no specific date was mentioned. The report also suggests that the iPad will be either launched alongside the rumored iPhone 5 or will be launched shortly after the iPhone 5.

Given how Sprint is currently operating a 4G WiMax network, it will be interesting to see if the iPad will be compatible with the WiMax connection, although if the report is to believed and how Apple and Sprint have supposedly worked together on the iPad, a 4G WiMax capable iPad will definitely be interesting.

With the iPhone 5 launch supposedly around the corner, the rumors have been saying that this time round all the major carriers will be carrying the device. According to a purported leaked internal memo from Sprint, it appears that they are gearing up for the possibility of an iPhone 5 launch and have blacked out the 30th of September to the 15th of October as possible dates. Now there are new rumors that suggest Sprint will not be getting the iPhone 5, but rather an iPhone 4.

Based on how the internal memo was worded, we can’t be sure if Sprint was being cautious about leaks and worded it in such a way that they seemed to not know if there would be an iPhone 5, or if they genuinely had no clue and were just playing it safe. If it was the latter, according to TUAW, a Sprint Nextel sales associate told them that it was not the iPhone 5 that would be launching, but instead it would be the iPhone 4 and that the carrier had supposedly started briefing their employees on the imminent launch.

If that is indeed the case, it looks like Sprint will not be getting the iPhone 5 until 2012. Given all the previous rumors and speculation that is pointing at an October release of the iPhone 5, it does not make much sense for Sprint to be sporting the iPhone 4 since would-be iPhone buyers will be focused on the iPhone 5 and not the iPhone 4. It does sound like someone is trying to throw something into the mix to spice things up, but then again those reports could be dead on for all we know.
