Looking for a sexy new Windows Phone device to purchase? Well, you might want to hold out for LG’s upcoming creation. The Korean company has worked together with a German fashion designer, Jil Sander to come up with the first Windows “Fashion Phone”. Called the LG Jil Sander E906, it features a sleek and slim device that features the signature Jil Sander electric blue trim. It’s definitely up there with one of the best looking phones I’ve ever seen, though the middle Windows button might be a bit too flash for me. Other than that I think it’s one sweet looking device.

The phone will pack WP first generation phone specs (except that it will ship with Mango) – a 1GHz processor, 3.8? TFT display, a 5-megapixel rear camera, 16GB of storage, and it will be preloaded with custom apps like the Jil Sander app for folks to easily reach the Jil Sander online store. The phone is expected to launch as early as tomorrow (October 7th) and will be available in Europe. No word of a US date or price, but the LG Jil Sander E906 has the potential to be a hot-selling WP7 device – provided that it’s priced reasonably. What do you think of the phone? It looks like we’re going to see some new MacBook Pro notebooks very soon. According to a report from Apple Insider, a highly trusted source with insight into Apple’s future product plans told them that the fruity company has a MacBook Pro refresh in store for us – and they are slated to arrive in stores before the end of the month.

However, as the name implies, the refreshed notebooks only feature minor improvements over the current generation MacBook Pros. The 15? and 17? MacBook Pros are said to use Intel’s latest Core i7 processors that were recently released, while the entry level 13? MacBook Pro will get slightly faster Core i5 processors as well.

Other than the processor upgrade there should be no other changes to the MacBook Pros. The refresh is said to just serve as a transition between the current MacBook Pros and the future MacBook Pros that should feature Intel’s upcoming Ivy Bridge processors. We’re already halfway through the month so we won’t have to wait too long to see if these reports are true or not.

After being introduced quite awhile ago, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0 are finally arriving on our shores. At the Samsung Experience in New York earlier today, Samsung had some good news for folks looking forward to get their hands on the aforementioned devices. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 (for those of you who feel that the 7 is too small and the 10.1 is too big) is available for pre-order starting today. The Android Honeycomb tablet will go on sale nationwide starting October 2nd for $469 (16GB) or $569 (32GB). Check out our hands on preview for more details about the tablet.

The Galaxy Player 4.0 and Galaxy Player 5.0 are Android-powered portable media players (PMP) that basically let you enjoy the versatility and functionality of an Android phone minus the ability to make phone calls and connect over 3G. Both players will pack the same specs except that the Galaxy Player 4.0 will have a smaller display (4?) while the 5.0 will carry a 5? display, and the 4.0 will also have a smaller battery (1,200mAh) and weighs less. The Galaxy Player 5.0 will be available for $269 and the Galaxy Player 4.0 will cost $229. Both players will go on sale nationwide starting October 16th.

Ah, the circle of life continues as a device hits the FCC only to see it being prepared for a release shortly after that – case in point, the Kobo Vox that recently made an appearance at the FCC, only to have it show up on Futureshop.ca with a specifications sheet, shipping date of October 17th as well as $250 Loonies. That’s Canadian dollars for you just in case you were not aware.

Well, it didn’t take too long for that boo-boo to reach the ears of Futureshop.ca, hence the removal of the product page within a couple of hours after it first hit the Internet. The specifications sheet do point towards the Vox as an Android-powered tablet, but there was no version information to go along with it. The Vox should be able to fit comfortably into the palm of your hand with its 7? display at 1,024 × 600, where the chassis will also carry Wi-Fi connectivity, 8GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot to augment that figure even more, a speaker, as well as access to the Android Market. Angry Birds, anyone?

Tipping the scales at 400 grams, the battery life is rumored to last for around 6 hours, although we do not know in what context that figure was quoted. Bear in mind that until an official product page with its specifications are released, the above are just general guidelines that might change in time.

Fans of Blizzard who have been eagerly anticipating the release of Diablo III will be disappointed to find out that the game will be delayed until early 2012. According to a press release on the company’s website, it was announced that the game would only see a release in the early part of 2012.

“With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible. However, we didn’t put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “The beta test is going very well, and we look forward to making the most of the extra time we’re taking to deliver an experience that lives up to our vision for the game and the expectations of our players. Next year is going to be an incredibly busy one for Blizzard, and we hope an incredibly fun one for Blizzard gamers.”

Unfortunately no word was given as to why the game has been delayed. Some are saying that it was due to the many bugs and flaws that were exposed during the beta, and the major revamp of the Demon Hunter class that may have contributed to the game being pushed back. The closed beta which started a few days ago will also be extended with more testers being added.

While we’re sure many fans and players will be disappointed, we’ll have to echo Mike Morhaime’s sentiments about not releasing a game that has met the quality and standards of Blizzard. Given how it’s been 11 years since Diablo II has been released, what’s a few more months of waiting, right?

Are you looking forward to playing Valve’s DotA 2 (Defense of the Ancients)? If you are, here’s the good news – Valve may be pushing out the game earlier than they had initially anticipated, although as to when exactly remains to be seen.

It seems that Valve originally had plans to launch the game some time next year, and they had plans to use a good part of 2012 to beta test the game, slowly adding heroes over time until they have reached the level that they are in the Warcraft III mod version of DotA, which is still extremely popular even until today. However due to feedback from fans and players, people just wanted to play the game which was why Valve has decided to bring forward the release date.

“Our original plan was to spend the next year or so in beta, adding new features and slowly growing the number of heroes until we reached a level of parity with Dota 1, at which point we’d release Dota 2 to the world” - ”But the feedback we’re seeing everywhere is that people just want to play it, even though there’s still a ton of heroes yet to be implemented. We’ve also seen that the folks who are already in the beta are chomping at the bit to show everyone else some of the fun games they’ve had. So we decided our original plan was dumb.”

While we’re sure that Valve had good intentions of bringing us the best possible quality game they could put out, let’s not forget that the original DotA started out with only a handful of heroes, and over time more were being added along with new items and changes in game mechanics, which proved that as long as good quality gameplay is there, people will play despite the limited choice of heroes to choose from. While Star Wars Galaxies is closing down at the end of the year, it looks like it has a successor ready to take its place. Previously it was rumored that Star Wars: The Old Republic would be delayed until next year, but BioWare has just come forward announced a release date for the game and it’s going to be on schedule. The long-awaited Star Wars MMO will released on December 20th in the US and December 22nd in Europe.

Subscription details of the game were also revealed, and SW:TOR will be free for the first 30 days, after that users will be charged $14.99 a month (pretty standard for most MMOs), while there will be slight discounts for buying a few months at a time – $41.97 for three months and $77.94 for six months. Still no word on when the beta will go live, but for folks who pre-order the game, you’ll be able to start a few days before anybody else. Anybody thinks the Force is strong in this one?
