Remember those horror stories of fake Apple Stores in China that even fooled the employees of those stores into thinking that they were actually working for Cupertino? Well, it seems that the legal eagles at Apple has done quite the job in making sure they have the upper hand in China, by obtaining 40 patents in that part of the world which covers the iPad, iPhone and even retail stores. Yes sir, Apple has legal protection for its popular products now, so do expect many more cease and desist letters to be sent out to all those peddling fake Apple products (not only in China), before taking a sterner action.
It seems that these patents will cover 37 products, where it could also offer some semblance of protection for the iPad 2 3G that began to go on sale earlier today. Not only that, this might also mean the beginning of the end of fake Apple Stores, since the patents also cover Apple store architecture.
Just how far do you think Apple will go in eradicating fake products and misrepresentation of their image, and the extent where they intend to bring perpetrators to justice?
