There are some ways to protect your loved ones once you’re gone – one of them is to make sure a will is drawn up so that there won’t be any disputes as to who gets what, and the other would be an insurance policy so that your family will have some money left over instead of being saddled with financial burdens on top of grief. Here is another way to ‘protect’ your family once you’ve breathed your last – by having your cremated remains loaded onto a shotgun shell.
Clem Parnell is one of those, who intends to see his ashes in a shotgun shell blast a turkey – perhaps for Thanksgiving? The 59 year old mentioned candidly that he “will rest in peace knowing that the last thing that turkey will see is me screaming at him at about 900 feet per second.” Parnell and Thad Holmes launched Holy Smoke LLC in July this year, thinking that there is a market for hunters who want their remains to be loaded into shotgun shells, rifle cartridges and bullets.
$850 thereabouts will net you 250 shotgun shells, 100 rifle cartridges or 250 pistol cartridges – all packed to the brim with your ashes. If you happen to be part of the military, police or firemen, then you are eligible for a discount. I guess some folks love hunting so much that getting loaded up for one more time is a fitting send-off.
