We know that Samsung’s Galaxy S2 is doing gangbusters at the moment, having sold more than 10 million units worldwide with no signs of stopping, but those living in South Korea are already treated to something better – the LTE-enabled versions of the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S2 HD. Yes sir, this is South Korea’s first LTE 4G LTE smartphones, running on a dual-core 1.5GHz processor with a Super AMOLED Plus display that is huge at 4.5?, not to mention having the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system running underneath the hood (there’s a leaked Android 2.3.5 version which we don’t recommend you try out).
Samsung claims this will be 5 times faster compared to current 3G LTE support in that part of the world, but until we get real life performance figures, we’ll take what they claim with a pinch of salt. Other hardware specifications include an 8-megapixel camera, Full HD video playback, TV out, Mobile High Definition Link, 16GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, NFC support and a rather beefy 1,850mAh battery.
How about Samsung also holding the distinction of rolling out the first HD Super AMOLED display on their smartphone? You get 1,280 x 720 resolution display which will definitely provide eye-popping visuals. Now to see if the latter will arrive Stateside or not…[Press Release (Korean)]
