While (mostly) everybody was enjoying their three-day weekend in the U.S., the ladies of The Help helped out the Labor Day holiday by making it to the number one spot for the third week in the row.
The movie made $14.2 million, which was far better than any of the weekend's new releases.
Ouch.
Helen Mirren's thriller The Debt came in second place with $9.7 million while new releases Apollo 18 and Shark Night 3D finished in third and fourth places, with less than $0.1 million sales apart from each other.
It's safe to say that The Help is clearly a hit with a collective $118.6 million. Could it possibly become an Oscar contender too??
Here's the top six movies of the weekend:
1. The Help – $14.2 mil
2. The Debt – $9.7 mil
3. Apollo 18 – $8.7 mil
4. Shark Night 3D – $8.6 mil
5. Rise of the Planet of the Apes – $7.8
6. Colombiana – $7.4 mil
So, what did U see this weekend??
