The Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) was always full of text as well as some code numbers, and it is never a happy thing to see it – especially when you’ve just spent the better part of the day doing your work, only to realize that you forgot to save when the dreaded BSoD comes about like a thief in the night. This is when you start to spew curses that date back 10 generations, ranging from everything under the sun and more.

Well, Windows 8 has just gotten slightly more user friendly this time around, where it will sport a sad smiley to inform you that something is not quite right with the operating system, and I kind of like the major revamp done to it. At least there won’t be a rather cryptic looking page of text to inform you that something has gone awry, but rather, the sad face is accompanied by a message that is far easier to understand for the average Joe.

You will obviously still need to perform a reboot, but at least you can do so with a lighter heart – and make sure you save your work often, and if the program that you’re using has some sort of autosave function, then you would do well to turn that option on.
