Today Toshiba outed an update to their series of external hard drives, the Canvio 3.0. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because it wasn’t too long ago that Toshiba released the Canvio 3.0, and it doesn’t look like this refresh will be bringing anything new to the table, unless of course you’re a firm believer and user of cloud storage.
The refresh will feature sizes of 500GB, 750GB and 1TB and will come in a range of colors, and much like its predecessor, it will also feature USB 3.0 support for faster transfer speeds. Like we said, there’s not much difference between this new line of Canvio 3.0’s and the previous one, with the main difference being that the refresh of Canvio 3.0 will see an inclusion of cloud backup software.
The drives will come loaded up with Windows-based NTI BackupNow EZ software that will allow the user to backup to the cloud and the drive. The user will have to create an account with NTI BackupNow EZ to backup their files, so for those who love cloud storage technology should appreciate this feature. Toshiba has also refreshed their series of Canvio Basics to include USB 3.0 support and has redesigned it to make it more compact.
If you’re interested in getting your hands on the newly refresh Canvio 3.0, they are priced at $89.99, $109.99 and $139.99 for the 500GB, 750GB and 1TB respectively. The Canvio Basics 3.0 are priced at $79.99, $99.99 and $129.99 for the 500GB, 750GB and 1TB respectively.
